1The Challenge
What was the challenge?
CARS24 brought together 100 participants in India with a clear mandate: strengthen collaboration across a high-performing, fast-moving e-commerce team. Despite being talented individually, the group needed a shared experience that would build genuine trust, dissolve hierarchy, and create the behavioural alignment that drives real business results. The Thought Bulb was briefed to design a programme that was purposeful, energising, and precisely tailored to this team's specific dynamics — nothing generic, nothing off-the-shelf.
2Our Solution
What solution did we design?
To instill the value of resourcefulness at work, The Thought Bulb proposed The Cooking challenge for the team of 100 people at CARS24. The challenge aimed to encourage participants to share ingredients, best practices, and resources, fostering a sense of collaboration and resourcefulness.
3How We Did It
How was the programme delivered?
Icebreakers: To charge up the group and foster a connection, a quick 5-10 minute icebreaker activity was conducted. This allowed team members to get to know each other better and create a positive atmosphere for the main activity. Activity: The cooking challenge was executed by dividing the team into smaller groups, each tasked with creating a culinary masterpiece of 3 course meal using limited resources and ingredients. Participants were encouraged to barter their ingredients, exchange ideas, and collaborate on innovative ways to make the most of what they had. The focus was on promoting resourcefulness and teamwork in a fun and engaging environment. Later the 3 course meal is judged based on their presentation.
4Key Outcomes
What were the results?
The cooking challenge for CARS24 successfully addressed the following key points during the debrief: a) By sharing ingredients, best practices, and resources, they discovered the power of leveraging limited resources to achieve successful outcomes. b) The challenge created an environment that fostered collaboration among the participants. They actively shared ingredients, exchanged ideas, and collaborated on cooking techniques, emphasizing the significance of teamwork. c) The cooking challenge provided a wholesome experience that combined fun, learning, and teamwork. Participants gained insights into resourcefulness, enjoyed the process of cooking together and enhanced team bonding and camaraderie. d) They discovered that effective communication, collaboration, and resourcefulness were key factors in achieving desired outcomes and overcoming challenges. 100 participants completed the programme with an overall satisfaction score of 9.2/10. Facilitation quality was independently rated 9.4/10. CARS24 reported a visible and sustained improvement in cross-team communication in the weeks following the programme — and subsequently engaged The Thought Bulb for a follow-up session.
