What was the challenge?
Flipkart planned a full-day program for their participants, focusing on objectives such as Change Management, Empathy, Dealing with Assumptions, Trust Building, and Strategizing. They wanted two activities that would address these objectives, along with highlighting their core values through a workshop. The program aimed to provide a debrief-oriented experience for the participants.
2Our Solution
What solution did we design?
We proposed two activities to meet Flipkart's requirements. The first activity was the Lego Smart City, which involved various layers of customization to align with the program objectives. The second activity was The Million Pixel, designed to highlight the company's core values through a customized manifesto.
3How We Did It
How was the programme delivered?
In the Lego Smart City activity, participants were divided into two teams and tasked with building cities. After 15 minutes, participants switched their working stations, emphasizing the aspect of change, communication, and trust. The activity aimed to address the following aspects: a. How leaders deal with change: Participants stepped into their team's shoes to understand their feelings when strategies change. b. Challenging assumptions: Participants explored whether they challenge assumptions and why or why not. c. Building on others' strategies: Participants examined if they trust and build upon others' strategies or if there is a lack of trust in their abilities. d. Communication: Participants reflected on whether they communicate enough to understand others' thought processes. The Million Pixel challenge involved dividing participants into four teams. Each team created an individual canvas, contributing to a larger picture that revealed a beautiful message aligned with Flipkart's core values. The final artwork was displayed in the CEO's office, symbolizing the collective effort of the participants.
4Key Outcomes
What were the results?
The program successfully achieved its objectives of promoting understanding in change management, accountability, and collaboration. Through the Lego Smart City activity, participants experienced the impact of change, learned to challenge assumptions, built trust, and emphasized effective communication. The Million Pixel challenge allowed participants to reflect on and highlight Flipkart's core values, fostering a sense of ownership and pride. The debrief sessions enabled participants to deepen their understanding of the concepts and apply them in their professional roles. Overall, the program provided an engaging and thought-provoking experience for the participants, promoting positive change within the organization
