3How We Did It
How was the programme delivered?
- Snazzy Openers: The event started with engaging and exciting openers to set the mood and energize the participants.
- Terrarium Kits: Teams were provided with terrarium kits, which included tools, a glass bowl, and some funds (moolah). The teams were responsible for purchasing materials such as mud, plants, pebbles, and decorative items from the shop.
- Planning and Execution: Each team strategized and made plans on how to make the best use of the provided resources. They utilized their creativity and teamwork skills to design visually pleasing and appealing terrariums. The teams built their terrariums from scratch, incorporating elements that reflected their personalities, characteristics, and behaviors within the team.
- Souvenirs: After completing their terrariums, teams were able to take them home as souvenirs, symbolizing their collective efforts and the memories created during the event.
4Key Outcomes
What were the results?
The debrief session focused on highlighting the following key points:
- Strategic Planning: The Terrarium Challenge encouraged teams to engage in strategic planning by determining the most effective use of the given resources to create visually appealing terrariums.
- Resourcefulness: Teams had to demonstrate resourcefulness by utilizing the provided tools, funds, and materials to construct their terrariums. They had to think creatively and find innovative ways to achieve their goals.
- Teamwork: The entire activity emphasized the importance of teamwork. Each team member had to collaborate, communicate effectively, and contribute their skills to successfully build the terrarium. The presentation of the terrariums also provided an opportunity for teams to reflect on their collective behaviors and characteristics within the team."
The team completed the programme with an overall satisfaction score of 9.7/10. Facilitation quality was independently rated 9.8/10.
