1The Challenge

What was the challenge?

Itochu wanted a team experience that was genuinely adventurous — far beyond a conference room. The brief was fun and team bonding, but the canvas was anything but ordinary: Ramoji Film City, one of the world's largest integrated film studios. The logistics, however, were equally extraordinary: no conference rooms for briefing, no ability to pre-place props anywhere inside the film city, teams travelling by bus from the hotel, and a gala night happening separately in the evening. Every one of these constraints needed to be designed around — not worked past, but worked with.

2Our Solution

What solution did we design?

The Thought Bulb designed a fully self-contained treasure hunt experience that began the moment participants stepped onto the bus. With no space for a traditional briefing, the activity was woven into the journey itself — challenges started en route, so by the time teams arrived at Ramoji Film City, the race was already on. Since no props could be pre-placed inside the venue, every challenge element was packed into a custom kit bag carried by each team: ponchos, sunscreen, hand sanitiser, a medical kit with emergency contacts, and face masks — ensuring every participant was comfortable and safe across a 3–4 hour outdoor race through one of India's most sprawling venues. The day closed with a gala night where the top 3 teams were awarded and a blooper video brought the day's best moments back to life.

3How We Did It

How was the programme delivered?

The race began at the hotel. Teams assembled, received their kit bags, and boarded the buses — where the first challenges were already waiting for them. By the time they arrived at Ramoji Film City, competitive energy was already running high. 80 participants across 8 teams navigated the treasure hunt over 3–4 hours, working through challenges designed specifically for the Film City environment — creative, physically engaging, and calibrated to keep teams collaborating under pressure. With no fixed props in the venue, every challenge was portable and self-contained, giving the hunt a spontaneous expedition-like feel. Two facilitators managed the full experience across the entire venue.

4Key Outcomes

What were the results?

The Ramoji Film City treasure hunt delivered an experience impossible to replicate in any conference room. The scale of the venue, the outdoor energy, the custom kit bags, and the bus-start format combined to create something that felt genuinely adventurous from start to finish. The blooper video at the gala night was a masterstroke — transforming individual team moments into a shared story, giving 80 people a reason to laugh together at the end of a long, exhilarating day. Top 3 team recognition gave the competition a satisfying close, and the evening format ensured the day's energy carried seamlessly into the night. 80 participants. 8 teams. One film city. An offsite that played out like a movie.
