1The Challenge
What was the challenge?
Thought Bulb organized a highly popular International Team Building Simulation, ""The Lost Dutchman Goldmine,"" for a corporate team consisting of 370 participants. The objective was to instill the value of collaborative thinking at all levels within the organization. Through business simulations, the participants were encouraged to think quickly and effectively to achieve results with speed.
2Our Solution
What solution did we design?
The Lost Dutchman Goldmine simulation was chosen as an engaging and impactful tool to promote collaborative thinking. Participants were immersed in a challenging scenario where they had to work together to navigate through a simulated gold mine, facing various obstacles and time constraints. The simulation provided a dynamic environment for the team to experience the importance of collaboration & quick decision-making in a competitive setting.
3How We Did It
How was the programme delivered?
The participants were divided into teams and assigned specific roles within the gold mining scenario. Each team was provided with limited resources and faced with a series of critical decisions. They had to strategize, communicate, and collaborate effectively to maximize their chances of success. The simulation required them to think on their feet, adapt to changing circumstances, and work together to overcome challenges. The teams engaged in lively discussions, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving exercises to navigate the complex scenario. They had to prioritize their actions, allocate resources efficiently, and coordinate their efforts to achieve the common goal of maximizing the gold mine's output.
4Key Outcomes
What were the results?
Following the simulation, a debrief session was conducted to reflect on the experience and extract valuable insights. Participants shared their observations, lessons learned, and the importance of collaborative thinking in driving results. The debrief highlighted the impact of effective communication, teamwork, and swift decision-making in a fast-paced business environment. The Lost Dutchman Goldmine simulation provided a memorable and engaging experience for the participants, combining fun and learning. It fostered a sense of unity, highlighted the value of collaborative thinking, and emphasized the significance of agility and speed in achieving business goals. By immersing themselves in a challenging and dynamic simulation, the participants gained firsthand experience of the benefits of collaborative thinking and the importance of adapting to changing circumstances. They left the simulation with practical insights and a renewed commitment to applying these lessons to their everyday work, thereby enhancing their ability to deliver results with speed and efficiency"
