1The Challenge
What was the challenge?
Tao Digital Solutions invited The Thought Bulb to close out their leadership offsite in Hyderabad on a high. The room included the CEO, COO, directors, high-level executives, expats flying in from the US, and even clients of Tao Digital — a uniquely mixed audience where the stakes for getting the tone exactly right were high. The ask was to shift energy from business presentations to something that would help these leaders build genuine relationships across cultures, energising without being overwhelming, and meaningful without being heavy.
2Our Solution
What solution did we design?
Build a Bicycle was the perfect fit — a CSR-driven team activity where participants work together to assemble a bicycle from scratch, which is then donated to a child in need. With 40 participants split into 4 teams, each team had one bicycle to build — complete with Tao Digital Solutions' branding on all four bikes, adding a sense of pride and identity to the activity. A gift hamper was lined up for the winning team. The NGO partner was arranged by The Thought Bulb, and facilitation was kept deliberately inclusive for the expat and client guests.
3How We Did It
How was the programme delivered?
The session kicked off post-lunch, designed to re-energise the group after a full morning of business meetings. Two facilitators led the challenge: 40 participants, 4 teams, 4 bicycles, 120 minutes. With senior leaders, expats, and clients all on the same team, the activity naturally flattened hierarchies. A CEO and a guest client were just two people trying to figure out how a gear cable fits — and that's exactly the kind of moment that builds relationships no meeting agenda can. The Tao Digital branding on each bicycle gave the activity a personalised touch the group responded to immediately.
4Key Outcomes
What were the results?
Build a Bicycle delivered on every dimension of the brief. The post-lunch energy lift was immediate, the cross-cultural inclusivity was built into every element of the design, and relationship-building happened organically — not as an agenda item, but as a natural by-product of building something together with your hands. The CSR element gave the day a powerful close: four completed bicycles, branded with Tao Digital Solutions, donated to children in need. 40 participants. 4 bicycles. One afternoon that brought an entire leadership team and their guests closer together.
