1The Challenge

What was the challenge?

The organisation brought together 15 participants in Sri Lanka with a clear mandate: strengthen team cohesion, break down silos, and build the kind of trust that translates into real performance. 15 participants from AirBNB’s leadership team embarked on a thrilling Sri Lankan City Race adventure, traveling from Galle to Colombo. The objective was to strengthen teamwork, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills through a series of unique challenges in the heart of Sri Lanka.

2Our Solution

What solution did we design?

The experience featured a series of challenges such as the Bath a Turtle Challenge, River Safari Challenge, and Fort Mystery Challenge. These tasks encouraged teams to navigate the city, solve puzzles, and work collaboratively to reach their destinations, all while immersing themselves in Sri Lanka’s rich culture.

3How We Did It

How was the programme delivered?

The adventure began with a briefing and introduction to the city's hidden gems. Teams then split into groups to face a series of city-based challenges, testing their navigation skills, creativity, and teamwork. Participants needed to crack codes, complete physical tasks, and use high-tech navigation gadgets to move forward.

4Key Outcomes

What were the results?

The city race fostered collaboration, adaptability, and leadership in a fast-paced environment. Participants left with strengthened bonds, enhanced problem-solving skills, and lasting memories of an exciting team-building experience in Sri Lanka. 15 participants completed the programme with an overall satisfaction score of 9.8/10. Facilitation quality was independently rated 10.0/10. The organisation reported a visible and sustained improvement in cross-team communication in the weeks following the programme — and subsequently engaged The Thought Bulb for a follow-up session.
